  • LDAP Host: Hostname (or IP) to connect to for LDAP searches
  • LDAP Port: Port to connect to connect to for LDAP searches
  • BaseDN: Base Domain Name
  • UID definition: Defines your LDAP user definition. Either UID or CN (use UID if unsure)
    • Example: dc=mydomain,dc=local
  • Username: Account to login as when doing user searches (can leave this blank for anonymous searches)
  • Password: Password to use with Username (leave blank if username is blank)

[/accordion]
[accordion title=”Active Directory”]

  • BaseDN: Base Domain Name
    • Example: dc=mydomain,dc=local
  • AD Account Suffix: Account suffix for user searches
    • Example: @mydomain.local
  • Domain Controllers: Domain controllers for the Active Directory
    • Example: dc1.mydomain.local
  • Real Group: AD does not return the primary group. Leaving this unchecked will fudge “Domain Users” and is much faster. Checked will resolve the real primary group, but may be resource intensive.

  • Password: Password to use with Username (leave blank if username is blank)

[accordion title=”Adding Users”]

  • This module will bypass the password stored in Vtiger and use LDAP/AD for authentication.
  • Create a new Vtiger user with the username and email that matches the desired user in your LDAP/AD
  • Enter a password in the user creation screen. This password will not be used by Vtiger for authentication.
  • Continue to fill the rest of the user profile if desired.
  • When the user logs in, Vtiger will check the LDAP/AD server for password authentication.
